Design Engineer, Electrical, Steerprop

We’re looking for a Design Engineer, Electrical who’s motivated by the challenge of developing electrical systems for modern maritime propulsion. In this role, you’ll contribute to the future of sustainable marine operations by creating efficient and safe electrical solutions for vessels ranging from workboats to larger ships. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team where your expertise will influence system architecture, component selection, and the integration of technologies such as electric drives and hybrid propulsion systems.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Contributing actively as part of our engineering teams in designing and developing electrical systems and schematics
  • Collaborating with mechanical and automation engineers to ensure seamless integration
  • Supporting testing, troubleshooting, assembly, service and commissioning activities
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant maritime standards, class society requirements, and safety regulations
  • Producing electrical engineering documentation and materials for projects
  • Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Independently leading smaller engineering projects
  • Continuously developing your engineering skills and knowledge

The skills and experience we value:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical design
  • Good skills in using design software for circuit diagrams
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
  • Good skills in both spoken and written Finnish and English
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng / M.Eng or equivalent) or a related field
  • Experience with EPLAN is considered an advantage
  • Background in the maritime industry is considered an advantage

In this role, you will report to the Manager, Electrical Engineering with your office located in Rauma, Finland.
