Open positions in Electrical Engineering team

Steerprop is looking for two designers to join our growing team of propulsion experts. As a designer you will work in the electrical engineering team in the Product Management organization, which is responsible for defining and managing products, delivery projects and R&D in electrical engineering.

Chief System Engineer, Electrical

As a Chief System Engineer you will

  • participate in the project during the sales phase

  • provide propulsion motor, drive, transformer and control system expert support both internally and for customers

  • design new electric power lines and concepts, or improve existing ones for diesel-electric, hybrid or full electric azimuth propulsion systems

  • participate in the planning and development of the control system for propulsion systems and electric power lines

  • lead larger engineering projects

  • manage performance, scope, and timetables of demanding engineering projects.

We expect you to have

  • at least three years of experience in electrical design or comparable experience

  • a track record of successful engineering work

  • a good understanding of electric motors and drives, a vessel’s electric power lines and automation systems such as IAS/PMS/EMS and of electrical engineering in general

  • experience of the marine industry or maritime service (preferred, but not required).

Design Engineer, Electrical

As a Design Engineer you will

  • be a contributing part of our engineering teams

  • independently lead smaller engineering projects

  • develop your engineering skills.

We expect you to have

  • a recent degree in engineering or a few years of experience in electrical engineering

  • basic knowledge of electric design

  • strong skills in using design software for circuit diagrams

  • a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.

Teamwork in an international working community

Your job will consist of close collaborative teamwork with your colleagues from different departments, which requires fluent spoken and written English skills.

Your position can be located at any one of our facilities in either Rauma, Jyväskylä or Vantaa, Finland. Remote working possibilities can also be discussed.
