Open summer trainee positions

We are looking for curious and solution-focused students who are eager to learn and develop both on a personal and professional level and who are interested in working within the growing maritime industry.

We offer a variety of interesting and versatile engineering trainee positions in several departments at our headquarters in Rauma. You will work with highly skilled and experienced colleagues and see how the maritime industry can benefit concretely from your work. You will be warmly welcomed into our inspiring and supportive working atmosphere and be given extensive opportunities to learn and develop.

Mechanical Engineering

As a trainee in our mechanical engineering department you will, led and supported by our experts, participate in the design of azimuth propulsion units. You will be assigned your own concrete tasks, modified according to your interests, involving for example:

  • 3D modelling
  • FEM analysis
  • hydraulics
  • creating drawings.

This position is best suited for you that study mechanical engineering or a similar field. Advanced studies in mechanical engineering and structural analysis are seen as an additional benefit.

Electrical Engineering

As an electrical engineering trainee you will work together with our skilled professionals both in the office and in the assembly shop. You will have the possibility to learn on-the-job, carrying out a wide variety of interesting tasks, involving for example:

  • control system development
  • technical support
  • electric drive design
  • electrical design with Eplan and CADS planner
  • electrical assembly supervision.

If you study or have recently completed studies of electrical and automation engineering or similar, this could be the position for you. Advanced electrical or automation studies are seen as a benefit.

Automation Engineering

As an automation engineering trainee you will be involved in various different tasks within the fields of

  • automation software product development
  • development and implementation of the software version management system
  • control system software testing.

You will also participate in the functional testing of our propulsion unit. With the support of our experienced professionals you will have plenty of occasions to further develop your own expertise and learn new skills.

This position would be suitable for you if you’re a student of, or have recently completed studies in electrical and automation engineering or similar. Advanced studies in automation technology are seen as an additional benefit.

Project Engineering

As a project engineering trainee, you will work closely with our sales and project management teams developing your project management skills and gaining valuable experience in international maritime sales and project delivery. You will work with project management and sales support tasks with the possibility to influence your role according to your interests.

This position is for you who are interested in project management and is a student of, or have recently completed studies in the field of technology, business or similar.

Sales Engineering

As a sales engineering trainee you will work togerher with our international sales team in varying maritime sales projects and increase your technical understanding. You will be assigned your own concrete tasks, modified according to your interests, involving for example:

  • back-office support to Sales Managers & Agents
  • preparing commercial offers and technical specifications
  • developing analysis tools
  • developing sales materials

This position is suitable for a student in a commercial or technical field with good problem-solving skills a co-operative attitude.

QHSE Engineering

As a QHSE trainee you will gain knowledge of the marine industry from the perspective of quality, environment and occupational safety. You will participate in the daily development and maintenance of our management system and run various supporting tasks, such as reporting and updating instructions. You will also take part in coordinating development projects. The tasks and responsibilities are specified according to the skills and interests of the applicant.

This position is suitable for a student interested in quality, environment, health and safety.

For all the positions good spoken and written English is also required.
